Background
Over several years I have worked as a Community Health Nurse, Public Health Nurse and Plunket Nurse in the Mid and Far North areas of Northland. Prior to commencing my current role I was the Clinical Leader for the Northland Plunket team.
Present Role
In 2008 I commenced my role as the Northland-wide Coordinator of the newly established B4 School Check programme – a universal screening programme which offers a comprehensive health check to all four year olds with the aim to ensure children are fit and ready for school. The service in Northland is delivered by multi-providers across the Northland district requiring co-ordination to ensure the B4SC screening programme is reaching eligible children and their parents, no matter where they live in a timely manner.
