Dr Kyle Eggleton has been appointed as the new Clinical Director for Primary Healthcare, Northland. The aim of this position is to support the development of new models of care along with robust, integrated clinical governance structures and will provide primary health care input into District Health Board strategy development.
Kyle is a seventh generation Northlander with roots in the Hokianga, and is currently a GP with Bream Bay Medical Centre, and the Police Medical Officer.
As experienced medical practitioner, Kyle has a long list of clinical degrees and diplomas to his credit including a recent Masters in Medical Science. And he is presently studying for a Master of Public Health at Auckland University. Kyle is also a member of a number of PHO and DHB clinical governance and steering groups, and is a fellow and sub-faculty secretary of the RNZCGPs.
Kyle has a strong interest and involvement in Māori health and youth health and is highly motivated to be part of the development of new models of care that will reduce the burden of chronic disease and health inequalities.
This is a 0.8FTE position and will be based at Manaia Health PHO, although Kyle will work across all of Northland and also link strongly with the DHB. He will take up the position on the 1st of February 2012.
