Background
I have lived in Whangarei most of my life and have been involved with the health sector for about 25 years.  I started as a Psychiatric Nurse for the first 15years, and then moving into project and quality management, as well as some operational management roles in Mental Health and Clinical Support services.  Most recently I have been the working in the Aged Care sector, managing a Rest Home & Retirement Village in Whangarei.
 
Present Role
My role is to facilitate and support the ongoing quality improvement and quality assurance processes with the organization and our providers, particularly the General Practice teams, as described by the quality framework of the Manaia PHO.  Key areas that I am accountable for are in relation to Practice Accreditation, Professional and Workforce Development, Cultural Competency, Privacy, Incident & Complaint management and the oversight of internal organizational policies.
