Dargaville Shared Care Record

Dargaville Shared Care Record

The Shared Care Record was officially launched on Tuesday 23 September with a blessing by Kaumatua Robbie Sarich . Thanks to a huge collaborative team effort, the new system has been widely advertised to ensure consumers are kept informed and able to make an informed decision on the new system (including opting out).

Marcus Liddell (Pharmacist) is pleased the system is now 'live' "With the Shared Record pharmacy can prepare your medications more quickly and with more certainty on how to best meet you and your whanau health needs".

Dargaville Medical Centre Doctor Cathy Hurd feels that "the Shared Care record enables members of the health care team caring for patients to have effective ways to communicate and access vital information for patient care and safety in a timely fashion".

Big River FM the local radio station is running a month long campaign - informing the community, and both newspapers attended the launch - it was like the paparazzi had come to Dargaville!

The Shared Care Record will initially be available at Dargaville Medical Centre, District Nursing, Orrs Pharmacy and Te Ha Oranga Ngati Whatua.  Only registered health professionals in approved care settings will be eligible to access Shared Care Records.  Access will be granted on a case-by-case basis for each health provider.  The software chosen for the Shared Care Record is Medtechs Manage My Health.
