Northland Health Sector Awards

Laura Teina Piripi, health practitioner for the Far North Mental Health and Addiction Service, receives the Taangata I Te Tuatahi (People First) award from Associate Director of Nursing, Mary Carthew, at the inaugural Northland Health Sector Awards ceremony held on Saturday evening, 9th August 2014.

Manaia Health PHO proudly sponsored the Matariki Hauora Maori Award which recognises an initiative that has improved the clinical experience for Maori patients and their whanau. Laura Teina led the development of an indigenous assessment framework which enables a therapeutic connection for whanau using a Maori cultural healing approach.
