New GoodSAM app for health professionals

The National Cardiac Network, St John and Wellington Free Ambulance have collaborated to introduce an app into New Zealand that notifies people that a person suspected to be in cardiac arrest is near to them. The app is called GoodSAM and it aims to ensure that patients in cardiac arrest receive early bystander CPR and early defibrillation, preferably prior to emergency services arriving, whenever possible.
This is the app that was proposed at the national CMO meeting, late last year. It has recently been rolled out to St John and Wellington Free Ambulance staff, along with the police and fire services.

The more New Zealanders that download the app the more lives we will all save.
